The New Orleans Weavers Guild has a well stocked library of weaving,spinning and dyeing books as well as equipment, looms and spinning wheels, available to its members.  Not a member, click HERE for membership information. 


Library Books

Books may be borrowed by contacting a board member for an appointment to meet at the library. Books may be returned at a regular meeting or by arranging a return with a board member.  

Books may be checked out for one month at a time after which a late fee of $1.00 per month per item will be assessed. The borrower will be billed for books that are three months over due.  Lost books must be paid for in full by the borrower.    Click to download a list of books and periodicals.

Library Equipment

Guild Equipment is available to all members in good standing.  Anyone renting equipment must fill out a rental form.  Looms and spinning wheels may be checked out for three months at a time.  If no other request has been made, the rental may be extended on a month by month basis.  There is a limit of one loom or spinning wheel per member per rental period.  

The security deposit on equipment will be returned to the borrower when it and all unattached parts are returned in good condition.  In addition, the renter will pay for the replacement and repair for any lost or damaged item.  A member demonstrating gratis in the name of NOWG may borrow equipment at no cost to the demonstrator.  Click here to download a complete list with photos.

All equipment must be picked up and returned after rental to the guild library location.  Arrangements must be made in advance with a board member.
